This dance is not regularly performed on the show. It was introduced in season 9, but it was not performed again until season 15.

Performances on the show

Season 9

Four new dances were introduced to Dancing with the Stars in week 4 of season 9, one of them being the Bolero. This dance was performed by two couples: Natalie Coughlin and Alec Mazo, and Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova.

Season 15

Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke performed the Bolero in week four, "Opponents' Choice Week". The dance was selected for them by Kelly Monaco and Valentin Chmerkovskiy.

Trivia

  • Most professionals on the show are unfamiliar with the Bolero for the most part. For their season 15 performance, Cheryl asked four other professionals to help her and Emmitt with their performance.
  • Emmitt performed the best Bolero that scored a 27.
  • Emmitt and Natalie danced the Bolero to the same song ("Better In Time" by Leona Lewis).
  • After Natalie & Alec danced the Bolero, they were eliminated the following week. After this, Alec Mazo has since never participated in Dancing with the Stars again.
