Tyra Banks is the content creator of our time. The supermodel-turned-super-businesswoman has a long list of firsts, prestigious awards, and business and educational endeavors. Banks was the first African American model featured on the front cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue in 1996 and then again 22 years later in 2019, as well as the Victoria's Secret catalogue; she was also the first female model ever to pose for the cover of GQ.
Banks was named one of The Hollywood Reporter's 100 Most Powerful Women in Entertainment, Entertainment Weekly's 25 Smartest in Television, and was America's No. 1 host two seasons running in America’s Got Talent. She was listed twice on Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World and took the No. 1 spot on Forbes' list of top earning women in primetime for two years in a row. In addition to being honored as one of Glamour magazine's coveted Women of the Year award, she received two Emmy® Awards for The Tyra Banks Show, the first show ever to receive the award in the new informative category.
After launching The Tyra Banks Company, she graduated in 2012 from the Owner/President Management program at Harvard Business School. Since 2017, Banks has shared her expertise and knowledge of personal branding as visiting professor at Stanford University Business School.
Her latest venture, ModelLand, is a first-of-its kind experiential attraction that intersects the modeling world with state-of-the-art interactive entertainment. ModelLand will give people a new insight into modeling and branding, ultimately expanding the definition of beauty, something in which Banks has always believed.
